Dear Prospective Student,
Welcome! I am delighted that you are considering the Graduate School of Education. On this site you will find information on a very wide range of programs, ranging from the doctoral, to the master's, to the advanced certificate. In addition, you will also find links to other useful information and resources that will guide you in your application decision. If you have additional questions after you have reviewed the website, please click here.
The Office of Graduate Admissions (OGA) manages the admissions process for all academic units within GSE. The office collects the various documents that comprise an application package, facilitates faculty review of completed applications, and communicates admissions decision to applicants. The office serves as a single point of access for all prospective GSE students who call, write, or email to inquire about GSE programs, and for questions about the application process.
The following are useful pointers that will facilitate the application process:
-
Applications to all GSE programs are online.
Applicants may apply to only one program at a time, and are encouraged to submit it online, which is preferred over paper applications.
There is a nonrefundable $50.00 application fee, payable in US funds. This can be paid electronically at the time the online application is submitted, or by check or postal order made payable to the University at Buffalo.
Admissions requirements and deadlines are established by each program and can be found on the web, or in the official brochures of GSE. In all cases, a baccalaureate degree or its equivalent from an accredited undergraduate institution is required.
Applicants must submit all the required documents in order to be considered for admission.
Some programs accept applications for both fall and spring of the academic year. Other programs only accept for fall admission. Please check for program specific information.
Supporting documents are to be sent directly to the address below.
Questions related to admission may be directed to OGA at (716) 645-2110, or by email to gse-info@buffalo.edu.
My staff and I look forward to working with you as you begin to explore graduate education, and wish you the very best in your academic endeavors.
