Chemistry: Adolescence (7-12 or 5-12)
Program Requirements
A program of 32 semester hours of credit (at least 16 in GSE) within five years is required for the Ed.M. degree. (Please note: New York State requires that a masters' degree be completed within five years of initial certification for professional certification). Six hours of credit may be accepted as transfer credits from other institutions. The last requirement for the master's program is a non-credit master's project or a comprehensive examination (a four-hour written exam offered three times a year). A thesis option is available, recommended for students pursuing doctoral program at other institutions.

The following set of courses are available for science education majors. A minimum of 15 semester hours (of science education courses) are required to include LAI 531, LAI 533, and LAI 534. To be accepted, all courses must be approved by the student's major advisor. The following is a list of courses offered by the science education program:
