Programs that transform lives through Counseling | Leadership | Teaching | Information

The University at Buffalo (UB) awarded its first Ed.M. and Ed.D degrees more than 50 years ago. Since then, UB's Graduate School of Education (GSE) has evolved into a thriving graduate center that is as important to the Western New York area as it is to the university itself. Today the school offers an extensive array of courses, opportunities for independent study and supervised experiences, and master's and doctoral degree programs, with study toward New York State certification in twenty-one fields.

Instruction and research in the Graduate School of Education are organized into four departments: Counseling, School and Educational Psychology (CSEP), Educational Leadership and Policy (ELP), Learning and Instruction (LAI), and Library and Information Studies (LIS).
