Singapore School Counseling
Program Faculty
For most courses, faculty will travel to Singapore to teach the classes being hosted by the Center for American Education in Singapore (CAE). Students will be taught by faculty from the Department of Counseling, School, and Educational Psychology at UB, as well as other renowned faculty who are nationally recognized leaders in the U.S. counseling field, and who are established authors and clinicians with extensive expertise in counseling strategies for working with children and adolescents, and families in diverse settings. For more information, please check the CAE website for the faculty affiliated with the program (www.cae.edu.sg).
To ensure that a high standard of supervision is maintained for fieldwork and practicum, a two-pronged method will be utilized.
-
All practicum and field work weekly group supervision held at CAE will be provided by well-qualified local Singaporean trainers identified by UB as having expertise in school counseling and supervision.
Online communication with field supervisors as well as additional online individual supervision of students will be provided by the Program Director.
The Program Director, Dr. Anita Sankar, will be responsible for all academic advising and as well as the monitoring and review of students' progress through the program. The Program Director will work closely with faculty and with the Center for American Education to ensure that students get the most of their learning experience and that the program is tailored to meet the specific contextual and cultural setting in which our international students live and work in. Students are encouraged to actively stay in touch with the Program Director.
