What is SLA? |
|
SLA stands for “Special Libraries Association”. SLA is an international organization for information professionals. They serve as a connective force for our profession by encouraging and providing opportunities for innovative learning, successful networking, and effective advocacy. If you’re sitting there thinking, “I don’t have $35 dollars to spend on a membership, I can barely afford my tuition payments”— don’t worry! If you’re interested in joining the UB SLA student group, you are definitely not required to join the national organization, but you are certainly encouraged to join because of the many membership benefits!
