Responsibilities of LIS GSA Officers
President: The responsibilities of the President shall be to serve as chairperson at LIS GSA meetings and to sign GSA vouchers and other documents requiring the signature of the President. The President shall serve as a representative to other organizations as well as perform other duties as needed.
Vice President: The responsibilities of the Vice-President shall be to serve as chairperson at LIS GSA meetings in the absence of the President and to sign GSA vouchers and other documents requiring the signature of the President after the resignation or removal from office of the President. The Vice President also serves as the event coordinator for LIS GSA functions.
Treasurer: The responsibilities of the Treasurer shall be to sign all checks and vouchers within the Treasurer's jurisdiction, to submit the LIS GSA proposed budget to the appropriate body of GSA, and to coordinate conference funding paperwork.
Secretary: The responsibility of the Secretary shall be to record the minutes of LIS GSA and to keep DLIS students updated on LIS GSA issues and GSA events.
Head Senator: The responsibility of the Head Senator is to attend all GSA Senate meetings and represent the interests of DLIS students. The Head Senator shall also manage the attendance of other Senators to GSA Senate meetings.
Senator: The responsibility of the Senator is to attend GSA Senate meetings and represent the interests of DLIS students.
Alternate Senator(s): The responsibility of the Alternate Senator(s) is to attend GSA Senate meetings in the absence of either the Head Senator of Senator.
Webmaster: The responsibility of the Webmaster is to manage the LIS GSA web site.

LIS Council is a group consisting of DLIS faculty, staff, and students. Official decisions about the departments administration, including accreditation, pass through LIS Council. Students have five voting memberships (student representatives), coordinated by LIS GSA. Although only five students may vote, all students are able to attend.
