LIS School Library Media Students excel

Congratulations to Department of Library and Information Studies school library media students for their excellent state certification test results! Results of the NY State Teacher Certification Exam for SLMC specialists for 2006 through September 30 reveal that 93.5% of UB-DLIS students passed the exam, compared to a 58% (combined average) pass rate by the other six library NY schools. Dr. Kay Bishop, Director of the School Library Media Program at UB, and Sue Janczak, Coordinator of the School Library Media Program, have also been receiving positive feedback from principals about the preparation of the UB students who have been hired in their schools.
