Please attach the checklist to the Ed.M. Application to Candidacy. The Ed.M. Application to
Candidacy should be submitted after completion of 12 credit hours and prior to completion of 24 credit
hours.

The Master of Education Application to Candidacy must be completed in consultation with your advisor and filed with your department before the completion of 12 credit hours.

Please attach the checklist to the Ed.D. Application to Candidacy. A Graduate School Petition must be filed for
any exceptions to Ed.D. program regulations. The Ed.D. Application to Candidacy should be submitted after four
semesters of full-time enrollment or its equivalent credit hours and program qualifying requirements.

The Ed.D. Application to Candidacy is an official description of your academic intentions. It should be filed after four semesters of full-time enrollment or its equivalent credit hours and program qualifying requirements. It is to be completed in consultation with your advisor. Primary responsibility for evaluation of the Application to Candidacy rests with the student’s respective committee; the department is responsible for insuring that the Application to Candidacy is complete prior to submission to the GSE Graduate Degrees Committee with whom the final decision rests.
