International Students Well Represented in GSE
Volume 3, Issue 1 - Fall 1999

The Graduate School of Education has some 132 currently registered international students. They are distributed throughout the GSE, but are predominant in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy and the Learning and Instruction Department. They come from thirty different countries – Korea, China and Taiwan have the largest representation. Of the 132 students, 72 are registered in Ph.D. programs and 60 are registered in master’s programs. Teaching English as a Second Language (LAI) and the Comparative and Global Studies in Education Program have a majority of international students. As the chart demonstrates, these students come from all over the world, but are primarily from Asia.
